A laptop shutting down after precisely 30 minutes is almost never a thermal shutdown or battery defect. Instead, it is an intentional hardware shutdown enforced by the Intel Management Engine (ME) subsystem inside the Platform Controller Hub (PCH).
Why Does the 30-Minute Shutdown Happen?
The Intel ME is an independent microprocessor running inside the chipset. Upon system boot, the ME firmware in the SPI BIOS chip undergoes self-checks, cryptographic handshakes, and checks watchdog timers. If the ME region is corrupted, mismatched after a PCH/motherboard replacement, or stuck in manufacturing mode, its internal watchdog timer fails to receive a keep-alive signal from the host. As a failsafe, the PCH trips the power rail at exactly 1,800 seconds (30 minutes).

Open the dump in Intel Flash Image Tool (FIT).
Replace the corrupted ME region with a clean, unconfigured repository ME binary matching your exact version.
Preserve the board's original hardware descriptors and VSCC tables.
Build the output binary.
Flash Back to Board: Program the newly built ROM back to the SPI flash chip. On first boot, the PCH will initialize the pristine ME firmware and clear the watchdog trip.
